Window Switch Assembly Loose?

Is there a clip inside the door that I'm not seeing or is there some piece missing from both assemblies? When I bought the car both the switch holders were hanging off like that and when I replaced the switches they are a bit worse after I screwed them back in. If I push in with my hand they seem to fit in but then they just hang on their own. I'm puzzled since I've never seen a late model interior besides this one and I don't know how it's supposed to be.

As the door pannels get older the majority of them are like that ,the trim doesnt seat properly anymore ,mostly because of the weak corners in which they screw. If the corners are weak you could try reinforcing them .

The below link shows how to do the inside of the door cards to strengthen them.

The back of that switch panel should look like this, those metal clips go inside the door panel

Thanks for the photo. I fear the metal clip is missing on the edge. Have to go look again.
