Noob 944 owner (questions)

I'll apologize upfront if this stuff has been covered but I have never been very good at finding information on forums.

background on vehicle:
1984 single owner (I'm #2) 944
5 speed
66k miles
well maintained

Some observations I was curios about:
First, The oil pressure gauge on my car while at idle is around 2 and jumps to 4 1/2-5 while driving is that a normal range for average operation?

Second, the moon roof motor seems to have burned out or the fuse, assuming there is one, has given up the ghost...my question is; how big of a job is replacing the motor? I assume the headliner must come out...anyone have a write up or link to one? And if the motor is bad, where is the best place to source a new one?

Thinks in advance for answering my silly questions.
Really looking forward to sharing with you folks.

Hi,
Q1-
Oil Pressure General Information and Troubleshooting Tips
Q2-
Sunroof Operation, Troubleshooting, and Repair

See:
Clark's Garage Home Page

Do you do your own repair work?

What major repairs did owner #1 do?

Silly question, I picture your hair to be in a 50's beehive dark black in color.

GL & welcome

Haha... no beehive 'do here. I can do 99% of all work myself. And I have friends for the rest. PO did all regular scheduled maintenance. The car is in great health otherwise. Thanks for the links... time to get reading.

John's got you covered, but the sunroof link he uses is more general and I think the most likely culprit (aside from a blown fuse) for your issue is below:

I can almost guarantee that it's not the motor. The most likely culprit for a sunroof that doesn't function is the microswitch at the front center of the sunroof panel. There is a metal tang that sticks out from the sunroof panel and hits a plastic plate in the roof. The plate is connected to a microswitch which needs to be pressed down for the motor to run. It's not terribly uncommon for the metal tang to get bent a little and stop contacting the switchplate.

A more direct link to the Clark's Garage article about the center microswitch is here: Sunroof Component Testing
