944 differential troubleshooting

Hi all,

after posted for a banging sound when starting off, and after many hours to search ... I finally ask myself about the differential ....

here is my first thread about my orginal problem
[944 163hp] banging when starting off

and I found this thread, the only difference is that the clunk appears only during acceleration :
differential problem

I checked the clearance of the part with the red arrow and I have clearance in radial direction (very small) and in axis direction (much more), is it normal ?
is this clearance could cause a banging sound ?

So, do you have experience about noise caused by the differential ?
a differential bearing could cause a bang when starting off ?

I'm a little bit lost, and I found lots of post about "rear clunk" on 924/944 ...
but never a real solution ....

thanks in advance
