I have a mint 86 944 n.a with 123k on. I was reading my smog test results the other day and noticed that it mentioned that my timing was minus 5 degrees TDC. I am almost sure it should be minus 10 degrees TDC. I passed the smog test with flying colors.. way, way below the minimum... was this set to make the car pass the smog test by the previous owner? or was this the "authotory II" chips doing? any help appreciated.. thanks..
pps/.. a bit of the topic.. but could somone please tell me what that "Key hole" is that I see on other porsche 944 n/a next to the driver side door handle? is that an alarm? I dont have one of those.. what does it mean.. thanks Last edited by snappy; 06-11-2002 at 03:25 PM.. |

Yes, since engine timing is set by the DME, your chips are the likely cuase of the timing being different. Can't recall what the timing is supposed to be in a stock set up though.
The keyhole as previously mentioned is the early factory alarm system. AFJuvat |
