Wheel fitment

I'm looking for rims for my 1987 944 N/A.

Does anyone know if 17" Cayenne rims (p/n 955.362.115) would fit?

They are 7"x17" with a 53 mm offset.

The wheels will bolt on - the trick is to get tires that will fit your fenders. Or, make your fenders fit the tires!

Yea should be fine. Just don't get front tires any wider than 225. 225's are tight as it is, they might rub on the springs. If you have adjustable coilovers, then maybe not.

Probably 215/45/17 would be good all around, stock is 215/60/15.

As an aside, does anyone know who makes the Cayenne wheels? Ronal, ATS, Speedline, BBS? I'm curious. Referring to the 17" ten spoke ones.

Thanks.

Take care!

The problem with the Cayenne wheels on a 944 NA is weigth, don't forget they were design for a 4x4 SUV & the weigth off a 7.5 X17 wheel is approx 27pds- x 4=108 pds & that's without the tires.

ernie, good point, I hadn't thought of that. I'm going to stick with stock phone dials for now.

A popular 17" upgrade for 944 owners is the use of 996/Boxster wheels.

Just picked up these off a 996, bolted right on. I think black powder coat will set these off.

I think my tint guy learned a lesson about the 944 that day. Rear window could be better, for $200 I'm not complaining.

Dustin - what is the offset on those 996 wheels and what size tires do you have on them. I have an 87 turbo and I'm looking for the same setup.
