R-134A conversion update
Had it in for a week now. After letting everything run for the last week, I topped off the freon this evening and added another dose of MaxiSeal (just for good measure. I had a few leaks, which is what prompted me to do this in the first place)
End result, I am running 40 deg F vent temps @80MPH/3200RPM. temp rises to about 48 degrees in stop and go traffic - more than adequate for summertime in FL. It would seem that though the condensor was designed for R-12, it may be big enough to throw off the proper amount of heat to work reliably with R-134A (My AC fan works, if yours doesn't your mileage/temps may vary) More updates to follow as I keep playing with the system AFJuvat |

I did the conversion 3 years ago (replaced the valve
 ) and it still works fine. I do have to add a can of 134-A each year.
