To do a 134a conversion, which valve on the A/C is the high side and which is the low side, the one under the car or the one under the hood?

ok, so the valve is on the compresser, i know that now, but how do you hook the hose to it, is there some kind of 90 degree adapter? the alternator is in the way...

General rule of thumb, the low pressure side is the hose that gets cold when the AC is running, it is also a bigger hose. With the exception of AC equipment designed for the purpose, NEVER connect anything to the high pressure side when the AC is running. To do a simple conversion, you can do everything you need from the low pressure valve. AFJuvat |

your car is a lot different, mine was under the car, on the compressor with the alternator in the way, I needed a 90 degree valve, which i just got

My car is exactly opposite. The valve in the picture is the high side. I didn't need an angle. It is tight but doable without one.
