So it's a straight pipe to a magnaflow muffler?

seven944 02-18-2013 07:17 PM

No, there's a magnaflow glass pack in place of the cat, the exact same length of the cat. DO NOT run a straight pipe unless you like hearing a Honda buzz from your porsche

Here's the sound taken to 6k in third on a "closed road" from 60/70-100

matty89 02-19-2013 08:06 PM

Tervuren 02-20-2013 09:56 AM

Ugh, that sound reminds me of my old early '85 944. :(

Miss it.

Gawernator 02-20-2013 11:04 AM

I like the OEM muffler too much though

seven944 02-20-2013 11:28 AM

No, magnaflow glass pack with a magnaflow muffler

seven944 02-20-2013 11:29 AM

I hate the stock muffler, sounds like a Honda sometimes

seven944 02-20-2013 11:30 AM

This exhaust is going up for sale from the motor back including my header and all

seven944 02-20-2013 11:40 AM

Gonna sell it for like 50 bucks haha

Gawernator 02-20-2013 11:58 AM

The stock muffler definitely does not sound like a Honda.

flash968 02-20-2013 12:25 PM

sorry - sounds like a ricer to me. loud, high-pitched, tinny, and very "kazoo like". very much like a civic with a coffee can. i don't have much room though. i drove an mgb that sounded a lot like that for a while.

i've spent over $11k on various systems for the blue 968, trying desperately to get a low even note. i finally got something i can live with, but it's still not perfect, and still a little too loud.

these cars are hard to get a good sound from. i have yet to hear one that really sounds perfect.

Those terrible Honda engines ;)

seven944 02-20-2013 04:37 PM

My car sounds tinny?

bell 02-20-2013 04:42 PM

Maybe it's his speakers.......

seven944 02-20-2013 04:49 PM

I hope you don't mean that 968 on YouTube that has had like five million exhausts on it. Having 11k to spend on having an exhaust sound good is awesome and all but the point of this post is that my car sounds decent and it cost me 100 dollars. Not eleven thousand. I can assure you that my car does not sound ricer or tinny, and I can also assure you that your opinion, valid as it may be, doesn't make my car sound any different , or make it less cool. Also, you sound very picky to have spent so much on sound and still not be satisfied. So thanks, and I'm glad your exhaust woes are almost over, and good luck .
