944 Trunk Release Won't Cycle

So on my last 944 I remember the electronic trunk release would cycle once per press of the drivers footwell release button. Current 944- the release motor runs as long as you hold the button. Contacts look good, unless the circled part is actually a broken contact (edit: is NOT a broken contact)

Fixed! Culprit was actually the release switch itself- the momentary contact was not properly switching between the poles. Solution was to slightly bend contact back into proper shape, not too much or you'll short it out (I burned one fuse up)

The motor is supposed to cycle once when you press the release button- mine was just running as long as you pressed the button. Problem with that is you don't have positive control over where in the cycle the motor stops i.e. it could stop in the released position... definitely leaves potential for the hatch to come flying back up when you get on the highway after not realizing that it didn't latch. Properly operating, the motor automatically stops in the latched position

Take switch apart (carefully pry switch and plastic surround out from drivers kickpanel, separate switch from plastic surround, pop switch face off to reveal contact)

See above

Pop everything back into place

Remove it and use the key,a rubbish part anyway, even Porsche reckoned so but never sorted it ,2 x 944's now and never could see the point?
Do as you like ,its just me putting my car on a diet,if its not needed its gone

Thanks for the info. I thought mine was supposed to cycle continuously!
However, the picture you show is of the release motor in the rear hatch.
Is it the motor that needs adjustment (as per picture) or the tip switch at front drivers side well?

At first I figured that the motor was at fault- wondering if the piece circled was a broken contact. It was not. The culprit in my case was only the switch at the drivers side well.

Wow, my switch has done this ever since I bought my car. I always just assumed that was how it was supposed to be.
Another project added to the list!
