924 alternator capacitor
so this guy right here.... Not the brightest peanut in the turd. Bought the replacement alternator a few weeks back, put the pulley on and quickly glanced it over, returned the old alternator for the core charge..
Looking over the alternator again, now a couple weeks later, i realize there is a male prong with nothing attached to it. Which means i brilliantly left the capacitor on the old alternator. I checked on pelican, all the local stores.. Anyone have a suggestion as to where i could find a replacement? Thank you in advance |

I guess its actually a condenser. I can't find one any where online.. What does it do exactly? I'd imagine it has to do with amp draw and whining right?

Capacitor - condenser, basically the same thing. They are generally put in circuits to smooth the ripple and attenuate the high frequency noise that an alternator can generate. The car would still operate OK without it, but your radio would whine with a bit of a howl that increases in frequency as you rev the engine. Practically any aftermarket unit would be OK here, they are all pretty similiar.
