New idle issues
I was chasing a stumbling engine issue on acceleration. I just replaced the TPS and made sure it's adjusted correctly. After putting all the intake back together, the car runs like it should, with one small issue. the idle is now at 1200 with the A/C off and at 900 or so with it on.
I've read some past posts about engine idle issues and wonder if anyone has any other light to shed on why it would be higher, why the split of A/C on or off and finally I suspect I can adjust the screw on the TB to bring it down. I'm still concerned about why it's all changed after the TPS was replaced. Also listed on RL. ![]()

idle set screw
The idle speed set screw (bolt?) has been known to loosen itself up and bring the idle up. If it is steady and healthy, just adjust it with a fully warmed engine to about 850. (a warm purrr).
A glop of RTV or other sealant will hold it in place once you have it where you want it.

Thing is, this all started after replacing the TPS and immediately after warming up the motor. I'm also curious as to why there's a difference of around 300 rpm between A/C on vs off. I see the adjustment screw and don't necessarily want to mask another problem by adjusting it down with that.
