10 speaker option speakers not working

Hi folks,

I have the 10 speaker option on my 91 turbo.

When I got the car about 4 months ago it all worked.

The car has been off the road waiting for the belts to get done, on dropping it off today I noticed no sound out the main door speakers.

I recently replaced the shift boot and thought I had loosened something but had a look and all connections are well.

Any thoughts I have never had this set up before and not sure where to start, is there a control unit?

Any chance you or someone else might have fiddled with the radio and put it on rear speakers only? Each door speaker assembly is amplified and I find it odd that both quit working all at once.

mueller944s2 - if you google images it you will see some pics and links come up.

I used to really be into audio and was amazed how good this setup was when I first got the car even with a late 90s sony head unit.

Thats interesting so each one is amplified where are the amps or crossovers etc?

I had a problem in my 911 where the wires were basically shaking them selves off the speaker connectors. The spade connectors are small and if the door panel was ever removed and the connectors disconnected they may have been bent out of shape and not hold as well as they once did.

not sure if yours is the same but my '94 968 had the 10 speaker option and theres a speaker fader dial near the shifter. you may have knocked its wiring loose or similar.

mueller, it was an option. big thread here: 10 Speaker Sytem - Anyone have pics?`

The tweeters are just above the window switches, a bass and mid range in each door under the arm rests and another midrange speaker and tweeter below each rear window.
