Odometer stopped working

Simple question...my speedometer is still working but the odometer is not. Where might the problem be and what should I do to diagnose and fix it? It's a 924S so the early style dash.

Usually a new gear.

OR you may get lucky and just have to slide the "loose-skipping" gear back in place and glue.

Be careful not to cross thread the speed O cable connection on the back of the speedometer.

Also, there is a delicate connection from the speedometer to the UP-Shift indicator on the dial next to the speedometer. This is the Hall Sensor connection.

DIY--Note Pelican sells the gears---Buy from Pelican

Thanks. I'll take the gauges out and have a look at it, and return if I have more questions.

I did not have to remove the "needle" to fix mine. The gear slid sideways. I put a drop of epoxy on the shaft to keep it in place ----5++ years ago and still OK.

John's a lucky one in that case. Some of us have performed a full repair and still get issues..
