968 factory options

Hi

I have a 95 968 base model. I have been looking around the net to find out what the original specifications were for the M030 option and the 17in wheels. Does anyone have the original information (as if you were buying one new back then)?

Any thoughts on M030 equivalent components? How is the ride if I go with these components. Currently I think my suspension is worn because I get more body roll as compared to my brother's 944 S2 (which has better components). And also at higher speed the steering wheel feels looser and the car is more prone to swaying a bit with wind. Maybe a combo of new suspension plus 17 in wheels and wider tread would make the 968 feel more planted?

In another thread it was pointed out that the 17in wheels could come in widths 7 to 9.5. Can I assume that these were available at one time from Porsche for the 968? Was a 9.5 able to fit without adjustments? I was looking at Ernie's garage and saw his setup and it's awesome!

My final configuration would be an upgraded suspension, air box mod/K&N/chip, 17in tires.

thanks!

M030 included larger swaybars and Koni shocks. I think springs/torsion-bars too, but I don't know. Someone else should know.

The 17x9.5 wheels weren't shipped on a 968. Maybe on the 968 CS (RoW only), but I doubt that. AFAIK the 17 x 9.5 wheels only came on race prepared 964's, much like the 16x9 Phonedials only shipped on 944 Cup cars. I think the 17x9 was delivered on the rear of the 964 Turbo.

I don't know if those specific wheels have the correct offset for a 968.

Take care,
