After running my '85 944 A/C for long periods of time, (lots of) water will run into the glove compartment out of a small tube that comes out of the A/C.
Seems that the drain for the condensed water is probably blocked and the A/C is filling up with water. Does anyone know where to look for the drain to unblock it? Many thanks Thanos |

Passenger side; about halfway down the firewall.

I don't know about you, but I was having the same problem with my 87 944S. I posted the question and was told it was near the firewall on the passenger side. Aftering spending about 3 hours looking for the hose, i got frustrated and turned the a/c on to cool off and think. It was then that I noticed the condensation on the black plastic box that was exposed near where a passenger's left knee would be. I followed the plastic piece down to the bottom were it bottomed out. I then pulled the radio and looked down in there, and behold, there was the small hose!!! After pulling it and no water flowing through, I took my compressor and blew into the hole that it was attached to on the black box. I heard gurgling and pulled it out to find a cascade of water from that hole. I routed it down the drain with my hand until it was empty, (atleast a gallon), and hooked everything back up. So far so good... I hope this helps...

The drain on my 1986 turbo is above torque tube. Mine filled with water once and drained into glovebox on left turns.

That's exactly what is happening on the left turns! If I do a sharp left I can get about half a liter in there!
I've unplugged the tube from the glove compartment and plugged it in a bottle until I figure out how to sort out the drain. |

Excellent! Right behind the CD player there is a little L-shaped hose that goes out of the a/c and flows down and out of the car. Pulled it out and no water was coming out.
With no compressor in hand, I inflated a... erm... latex device ![]() Thanks all for the help! Thanos |
