idle stablizer?
ok, fired her up for the first time this spring.
she does run, but the idle will hunt really badly. like it surges up to about 1800-1900, and then it almost dies, but catches itself at about 900, and then surges again. idle stabilizer shot? i don't think i have any vacuum leaks, ive looked everywhere except under the intake manifold. |

nope, figured it out.
the line from the intake manifold to the idle stablizer ... the plug bit pulled out of the intake. threw some locktight on there, press fit it back in, and she runs awesome now! new problem ... while remounting the speed and reference sensor bracket to the intake manifold, i cracked the plug on the sensor side. i pulled all the broken plug out of the harness side, and shoved the three leads into it, and it works. but obviously not a long term solution. have to come up with a better attachment method, or change out the sensor. I had a broken connector (both sides) of one of the ref sensors. I bought a new female connector on ebay and soldered it into the cable. Replaced the ref sensor with new one. All works fine now.

Gordon, I may still have a couple sensors sitting around you can have. I'll have to look in my garage and see if they're still there, but I don't think I tossed them.
Edit: looks like I must have sent them along with the harness a while ago. Sorry for the false alarm.
