Option Swapping

I own a 86 N/A with some nice options: 16/7,8 fuchs and sport seats. The interior and exterior is all in excellent shape. Mechanically it is not quite as nice, new WP/TB/FOES, but needs a clutch, shocks/struts, the OD is broken, and a "few" other things need attention.

Locally I see thee is a 86 turbo for sale, fairly low miles I am considering. The thought is to swap over some of the nicer N/A parts (seats and wheels, dash if needed) to the turbo and concentrating on bringing this car up to nice condition and more or less getting out of the N/A.

I am wondering what value is lost in the N/A and Turbo by swapping out some of the options? Or should I leave things as they are?

Unless you plan to sell the car later as a "collector" car, I wouldn't worry about the value. I'd make one "good" car and part out the other. Happy motoring.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Put both cars together, make one awesome car, sell the other as parts and make some of your money back, if not all of it!

+1 to the redheaded step child.
Build the 1 you want from the 2 you have. Then you have a car you prefer and the other is worth 100$ less

Well, the N/A is a very nice car and once the clutch is done it will be a good running car. It just depends on how bad I want to move up to a turbo and whether it would be a nice enough car to warrant stripping off the fuchs and sports seats off the N/A.
