What part needs replacing?

Not sure what part in the assembly needs replacing? I need to replace something for a safety on the suspension. I can't figure it out with out disassembling. I only have a hoist for a few days and would like to figure out what I need before I start. The images show the problem, the gap between the rubber and the metal. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a 1990 944 S2. Thanks in advance.

You don't need to replace anything. That gap is normal on the 87 and newer cars.

Thumbs up Upper strut mount spherical bearing failure

944S2Cabriolet:

How many miles does the S2 have?
The angle and offset of the Upper Mount Hat seems to be "Offset" for too much. The distance should be 1 to 4mm at best and even all around. Suspect upper strut mount spherical bearing failure. It should not have any play or make noise when vehicle is driven.

PS: Recommend disconnect cruse control throttle cable from the solenoid. These sometimes get stuck on their own. Safety!

Later.

Porsche Crest

When I jack the car up the gap between the rubber and the metal gets smaller. This problem is on both sides. I've added two pictures of before and when I had the car jacked up. The gap gets smaller when the tire comes off the ground.
Thanks

The Car has 92,000 miles on it. I use the cruise control sometimes on the highway. Is their some maintenance I could do to it?

Thanks
