8 volts at sending unit? HELP
Recently replaced the clock from my 85-1 944 with a VDO oil temperature gauge. I tapped the keyed power source for the radio. The gauge produces very low readings - oil temps of just 130*F. This can't be right, so I measured the voltage going to the sending unit and have only 8 volts there. How is this possible? What am I doing wrong? THANKS GUYS!

Low volts
Are you tapped into the voltage line for the lighting for the radio and the clock? It could be the line from the light dimming circuitry. Move the dimmer thumbwheel to full bright and see if that fixes it.
