While I'm in there
Well folks, the 83 NA will be coming out of storage shortly and my list of things to do just keeps expanding. One of them is replacement of the fuel supply and return lines. I intend to fabricate my own using Gates Barricade hose and re using the connectors.
The supply side uses a clamp I cannot identify, looks like a metal cup that gets compressed at six areas around the hose. Obviously this provides a very tight secure seal with the hose. Anyone know what these clamps are called? |

Hose ferrule?
I believe the little cup shaped metal piece is just called a hose ferrule. Type "hose ferrule" in Google images and see if that is what you are referring to. They are then swaged or crimped onto the fittings. There are several existing threads on replacing the fuel hoses. For example: one from a 928 owner is: SharkSkin - Shark Attack Round Thirty Four - Fuel Lines. Have fun.

Thanks, yesterday I visited a local shop that repairs hydraulic and pneumatic lines. Got the same thing from them. Once I pull the lines, purchase the right crap resistant hose they said they would use the correct ferrules and crimp them for cheap.
