Hello!
I have a 1984 porsche 944 and i have noticed 2 electrical problems. The door windows and the trunk light. But I will ask for help for the Trunk light issue first. So the trunk light isn't working as it should , it is working the same way the interior light works, when I open a door (driver or passenger) the interior light turns on and so does the trunk light if their switch is set to do so. The trunk light should light up only when the trunk is open right? Now the door windows issue: the windows only go up and down if one or both doors ( driver or passenger ) are open... I will apreciate any help!

I got my trunk light working over the weekend. And I noticed some strange smoke, and a burning smell when it was on. Whoops.
Guess I should have left it dark... Interestingly, none of my lights go on when a door or trunk is open. Only when switched manually. Yet, the driver's door switch works, because the chime will sound when the door is open. I hope to tap in to the door switch to install my own run for LED strip lights for the footwells. Has anyone done this? Gonçalo, have you tried to defeat the door switch to see if it is interfering with window operation when open? Perhaps a bad door position switch is grounding out the window lift circuit? Last edited by BoulderGeek; 06-08-2015 at 06:30 AM.. |

The same happened to me with the trunk light when switched manually! some smoke coming out and i immediately disconnected the wires from the light to prevent more damage... why the hell..?
![]() The door switches are in good position I believe, the interior light turns off when door is closed and on when door is open. |
