Aftermarket ignition trigger
Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has ever tried using an aftermarket, i.e, Crane, Pertronix, etc. Ignition trigger installed in the distributor? I use a VR sensor in the distributor of my Lotus to triger the ignition events via MegaSquirt, and was going to look at doing the same for my restoration project 87 944S. Thanks much Jeff |

Talk to user Dougs951s over on Rennlist, he recently installed a Megasquirt setup on his 951. He used a missing tooth trigger wheel on the crank pulley and a Ford VR pickup. The crank appears to be the best place for it, the trigger wheel is $40 from:

Thanks, I have been away a while. Are you going to COTA in Sept for the 6 hr race? J

There is a also a local racer that uses one -- connects the pickup to either the sway bar or steering rack and picks up the missing tooth off the crank. I believe he runs wasted spark.
