what about replacing the CAT with a resonator like this one ? It was suggested by a 944 member
E bay has it for less $

I think if we replace the CAT, the engine will breath better, and probably will nor ran as warm.
The CATS tend to get pretty HOT, I could feel it with my old 84 911.
So the replacement muffler is not such a bad idea, or a resonator if one wants some grrrrr sound !! I like some sound it just feels faster (:
