Changing the air filter should have no effect on whether the car starts. You should check to see whether you accidently knocked anything loose. What happens when you try to start it? Does it turn over but not start? You need to describe what's happening before anyone can really give you advice.

Apparently is the ignition coil. I am replacing it. Thanks for your help, and I will keep you posted andy

changing the air filter wont cause the car to have other symptoms, unless you happened to snap one of those brittle vac tubes or something else was dislodged. As with any 928 of age, the relays are always suspect that control seats, AC, lights, and importantly, the fuel injection system.
