Dash Removal Saga - a/c head controller issue
I am now removing the center console to free up the dash and tried to remove the a/c controller with the sliders. (I want to recover the center so it maches the dash - same for the glove box door.) Anyway, I guess the radio needs to be removed first so you can get the center out without disconnecting the a/c controller. That was too easy and I was anxious to move on but I am waiting for the radio removal tool so I tried to remove the a/c controller with the radio in place. This was a mistake as all I ended up acomplishing was disconnecting (inadvertently) a couple of the vacuum hoses. Can someone guide me on how to figure out which one goes where. Also, all the fibers for carrying light to the knobs are broken so I am wondering how hard it may be to swap out the head unit all together. There is a cable for the vents - is that easy to remove? Also, if anyone has a spare controller they want to sell - please let me know. Andrew

It's a 1981. I think I figured it out. I am reinstalling it all. Now I just have to figure out why my Blaupunkt Bamberg will not turn on. It's too dark now so it will have to wait until tomorrow morning.
