From what I have read on your car it isn't the engine that is bad is it, its the fuel system etc? This rebuilt engine is a long block, but no intake or fuel injection.

Hi DanglerB, I am the one with a 1981 928 Euro.

Hi Danno, I just read your thread on Rlist again. Seems like you have something of a mix of various parts from different cars, best I think to fully investigate what you have and what is wrong with it before spending much.

The M28/10 ID on the block means its a non USA motor (but not an S either) for an automatic transmission car. It uses the same CIS (continuous injection system) as the US 78/79 models, with essentially the same power output, but higher gas consumption than later electronic injection models.

As others have said, the front fenders are not Euro, and one of the intake tubes is Euro S and the rest are not. Why these items were changed is an important question, and could change how best to proceed.

BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) keeps a record of every cars smog test history, I think, as the new owner you may be able to get a complete record, not just the pass or fail, but the complete test results which may give a mechanic a MUCH better idea of what has gone wrong.

100k miles is too low to suspect any material wear on the engine internals without some kind of "event" that broke something. Sitting with old gas tends to clog every segment of the CIS, and thats not a minor thing to fix.

Send me a PM (click on my name to the left of this message) with your email and I can pass it on to the owner of the motor, but as I said, its a long block without injection or intake, and those are the parts I think you need.
