Please see below. Can someone tell me if this goes to my 928? I just found it at the bottom of my oil drain bucket.

That doesn't look like anything on a Porsche. Could it be from a hydraulic jack?

How big is it? Compare to some Porsche bolts, is it metric size and thread pitch?

Top part reminds me of the idle speed adjustment on the throttle.

The head is about 1/2" in diameter.

Too big to come out of the drain, so most likely it was already in the drain pan from some other use.

It wasn't used as the drain plug was it?

Well, I feel better knowing that it did not come from the 928. Have no idea where it came from. Perhaps it is from a jack. Not sure how it would it get in there though.
thanks

Garage
looks like nothing from the bowels of a 928 engine......

I might suggest that you clean your drain pan before dropping the oil out next time...?

Posting a picture of the drain plug to your other car, a Yugo, is highly frowned on around these parts. I wonder if it matters whether you replace the crush ring or not.

My buddy threw a X-mas party 7 years ago, in his 6-car garage with his newly rebuilt jaguar racing car on display. Kids were running amuck, & long-story short, he found a small handful of washers had somehow been placed down one of his webers when nobody was looking.

So, about 8k later, he was back in business. This is one of the many reasons I chose not to breed.
