No Spark
My car has been running fine since my last problem. but went to start it over the weekend and my rev meter jumped around all funny. I went to take a loOK and my distributer cap was loose. put it on right and it fired straight up. went for a spin but when i tried starting her again it was dead. on inspection i found i have no spark. iv 12v on both sides of both coils when cracking but not spark from either of them. distributors OK and rotors new. anyone any idea on this? could it be my flywheel sensor? or could it be that both coils got burnt out or something but i think this is unlikely?

I currently not familiar with 32V ignition, but will "guess" at this?
where do you not have spark? at the plugs, at the plug cables, at the coil cable? if you have no juice at either of these locations for both ignition banks, I suspect that you may be correct about the crank sensor. A computer issue may also be in the problem list? As I say, I am not specifically familiar with 32V ignition, just relating this to other crank trigger systems I have worked on...... --Russ |

When the dist was loose, did anything get messed up or disconnected?
Check the relays. Just guessing for now without more details. |

It turned out to be faulty relays. I had a jump wire with me but didnt expect two to go at the same time. ezf and fuel pump together! off to get some new ones and a few spares. thanks for the reply guys. hope she will stay running for abit longer now.

Look in the inspection hole in the timing belt cover and ensure that the timing belt is in place and spinning.
And of course check the relay. |

Could be the last thing touched fixed it, relays, really all connections are inherently flaky, unplugging and plugging them back in can "clean" the contacts. Wiggling wires around even can fix or cause a problem.
