Why did Whitefox get banned?
Why did Ross get banned? I followed his ride across AMERICA, something that I appreciate.

Hi Normy,
Bigs called him out for being a oxycontin addict, for abusing his generosity and other Rennlisters during the trip and otherwise being a general scoundrel. A dog pile and nasty pissing match ensued and he was shown the door. Kid sounds like a real loser, but the pack mentality at Rennlist is strong, so I don't claim to know the whole story. As you know, you don't get crosswise with the pack... Randy already doesn't like me due to my support of Todd and Mark. I'm still a paying member, as I still find some value, but I don't post much. I saw the flaming trail, but lost interest in the thread before impact. Whitefox sold his 928, so maybe he was ready to leave anyway?

But, the scamming I read about was sad. Poor reflection. Borderline to being fraud. Likely bragging about the scam. Surely you read it. But why do you ask?

Randy, and Rennlist have a SORRY record when it comes to who they kick off.
-Rennlist: It exists based upon membership revenue, but also advertising revenue. There are DOZENS of automotive websites; Rennlist is well known due to its' reputation for throwing people off the site and then not refunding their m money. I'm currently banned, and I have to admit a little of my spite has to do with this fact. I'm banned because I called the owner of the site, John Dunkle's friend an.... "old idiot" Yes, that's why I don't post there. I won't post there if they offer it back to me- I will tell them to GET F*CKED! I'm not sure why "Whitefox" got banned, but if you look at the thread, there were several posts by Cheryl Carter, who is apparenly Randy's wife. Cheryl is Randy Carters wife. The Carters live in TX. Randy V. lives in San Diego. The Carters are good people.
Just for the record. My opinion of Ross is not that he is a scammer. I am one of the few people who actually met him. I was at his home on a few occasions and spoke with him on the phone from time to time. He is young and immature. He handled the accusations on rennlist poorly imho but he felt attacked. There is alot more to the story about the 928 transaction with the guy in Seattle but I wont post it here. I think its better to just let the whole thing go away. Just know that Ross was made to look very bad but alot of it wasn't true. As for whether or not he smoked cigarettes in a non-smoking hotel room, I have no idea.

I know- I was one of them! I'm probably being a small bit generous with this guy...but it is best to be gentle first and ask questions later. Whitefox is an adult, entitled to manage his own life, including which forums he posts on. Its none of our business. I am sure he was aware of burning bridges when hit lit the matches.

**** hit the fan when a rough tally was posted from the people who donated money. He had more then enough to make the trip, yet was still begging for more at every stop. THAT is what set everyone off, and rightfully so.
Not to mention taking a trip like this without insurance. There are plenty of people who have been on the receiving end of an uninsured motorist. That pissed off more then a few people. He played the “I cannot afford it; I’ll have insurance once I get home etc…” Only to find out he had plenty of cash even for a one month policy to cover the trip. Not to mention money still owed on the 928 / bike deal. Ross playing the roll “I’ll get you the money, I just need a few more days……” On top of this the drug issue. It was fun to follow his trip, and I too wish I would have done something like this when I was his age. Mooching off friends is perfectly fine, at least I would have shows some respect to those who helped me. I honestly feel sorry for the kid, I hope he gets his life in order or he will not be around much longer. |

It seems to me that Ross at least at the time of each event intended to do the right thing, but he seems to have very poor life management skills. People much older and should have been wiser did a LOT of enabling. He survived and I suspect enjoyed the trip and maybe learned a few things. I wonder if anybody else did?

I contributed some money, because I believe you have to travel and explore the world while you are young. Once you have a job, house, family, etc - then you neither have the time nor the money to do this (or it costs you X times as much, depending on the size of your family).
But I was really disappointed when I heard he was riding without insurance. To me, that's an absolute "no-no". I would have expected him to take care of something as basic as that. In the end things reallly became ugly. Bigs' generositiy had been overstretched, the seller of the bike had trouble settling the business, the car wasn't as described, and people never received the model cars they purchased from Ross as a way to finance the trip. When Ross finally came online, he tried to downplay the issues he had created and attacked people, rather than working on resolutions. At least that was my impression. I hope Ross learned something from this. I wish him all the best for his life.
