a PO somewhere down line had an alarm installed. They hack up the ignition to install it. my question for you: has anyone ever used speaker wire and duct tape to install yours? --Adam

Egads! I am not an expert on wiring impedance, but I wouldn't run it that way. It's too easy to go to the local Radio Shack or electronics store and pick up a roll of correct wire and some connectors and do it the right way. It's funny because I too saw a lot of speaker wire in my 928 and it wasn't hooked up to speakers.

I have installed and uninstalled my fair share of alarm systems, and I have never seen this amount of poor quality, even in a cheap KIA. It really disgusted me to realize what they did to this car.

Same here Adam! I can't believe the condition my poor 81 Euro was in. Everyday I ask myself "I can't believe this used to be a Supercar."

Nothing electrically wrong with using speaker wire, generally its way too large of a gauge and has no normal ID marking colors etc. Hard to say which is worse on our cars, neglect or bone head repairs.
