Stan, I don't think I have ever seen another 928 in that color. That is VERY NICE!!!
Was it a special order? Luv to see some interior pic's. It looks Great!
Thanks---John

Mrmerlin 06-05-2009 04:09 PM

Jon the color is a copy of the 10th anniversary show car from the 1987 Frankfurt auto show .
My guess is that someone saw the factory show car and had them make a copy of it for the USA and this is it.
The car still has original paint and the code is 11H on the Glassurit web .
The interior was removed and cleaned, then reinstalled and its original.

Stan that car has to turn some heads, awesome looking.

If you wouldn't mind, in a new thread maybe, I would like to know what the 84 Euro At is like compared to the S4, how the different torque curves feel in real life driving.

ice-hot 06-06-2009 05:37 AM

WOW!! Stan, I second Danglerb, that is AWESOME.
Thanks for the pic's.
John

MPDano 06-06-2009 07:25 AM

Friggin BEAUTIFUL!

928SROCK 06-06-2009 04:41 PM

stan did you paint the instrument pod? I see in one pic. its all white and the other its half black and half white. Looks cool both ways.

Mrmerlin 06-06-2009 05:52 PM

Good EYE!, I had a special pod cover made so it was easier to drive the car.

With the white dash there is terrible reflection from the sun and its very hard to see, the dash also is very reflective but the pod was the worst part.
The sunlight reflects off of the dash then onto the inside of the windshield, and causes lots of glare.
DONT ever get a lite colored dash, dark gray or flat black is the way to go..

Hey Tass, that's nice work. Is that air intake oval on top of the radiator a custom piece?

Thanks Mike,

I made a couple of mods to it but the airfilter housing and and supercharger intake plumbing are available from Carl at 928 Motorsports.

This pic shows the intake plumbing without the filter housing installed.

After a couple of disasters working with used engines, I went with this full-rebuild engine so I only have enough run time on it to tune and check temps & pressures. I need to keep things calm for little break-in period. I can't afford the time and $ to screw up this engine :)

Nice! Hey Tony--That looks familiar. Is the paint Opal Mettalic? Check mine--last one on page 4 of this thread. Your car looks nice, but I guess I'm a bit prejudice.

Those Fikse's are really sharp! 18's? What size and tires? And why did you get rid of them???

MPDano 06-22-2009 05:03 PM

I agree, those rims are very nice and work well with the 928 body style. Except, that Ricer Exhaust Tip diameter is encroaching on the diameter of your rims ;)

Yeah, for sure. Thought you would like that Leo... (although you might be referring to s928s not having to drill his new front end, but I will just assume you noticed the kick ass euro front tag on my 79, haha)

Bought that tag from Germany, still has original seals, etc, non-stripped, who hoo!!!

Craig S. 06-23-2009 09:22 PM

Another sweet 928 from PA. Makes me home sick.

BTW have two Pcars with out front plates here in California... land of the fruits, nuts and flakes. Also know this great state is almost broke. Maybe they need to write me a ticket for some more revenue.

Exactly why I now abide by letter of the law. They are looking a lot harder now. CHP is always running my plates just looking from something to write me up on. No Probable Cause, no pulley me over.

I had the ROH Modena's: loved them, but was tracked down & offered full retail for the wheels/tires because of their exclusivity, so I sold out & went with my dear Fikse's. :) Look how well the ROH's fit my 951S as well!

You remember the Foil Jackets back in the late 70's because the NASA craze. I will admit that I had one and damn proud of it.

I think he is trying to mimic that.
