If you know anything about the latest styles in Porsche's you would know this is a similar look as the Porsche Carrera GT. Don't be so quick to judge.:):Dhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245886639.jpg

Why wouldn't I judge quickly? My first thought was "that's fu&^%$g awesome!"
|
well then mpdano thank you fu&^%$g much! lol I tend to reinvent the car to give it a fresh look. As we all know were always trying to make our cars look better.
|
Funny how things come full circle, that console on the Carrera GT looks rather vintage.
|
I'm not judging, at least yours runs.

I took my camera into the driveway today, and took about 100 pictures of my 928.
This one caught my eye: N! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245914387.jpg |

Did you do the repaint? The car was pearl white before; did they use Imron/Centauri? N |
Normy this car is coated in its original paint, all i did was buff it a few times to get all of the water stains off of it ( was parked in the yard in reach of the sprinkler system).
Other than than that the paint code is 11H on the Glasurit web site, Elfenbein Perlglanz. The interior is also original. I did remove it to scrub it and also washed the all of the carpets then reinstalled them. Normy this paint job is a different deal the color flops from a Butter color to a metallic silver with a hint of yellow when the sun hits it, none of the panels seem to match as they are all reflecting light in different ways.
But its the original paint The white on the inside door panels might be the leather trimmed portion, color is pearl gray leather |
keep adding the 928 photos to this thread

81 original color, auto, etc.

Have some of you guys put enough Porsche badges on your cars?
|
IIRC Louie won the best /radical car

Some people paste a large badge sticker on the fenders, close to the "A" pillar and door. I think that this is a good look, though it imitates the Ferarri GTO and isn't in any way shape or form "pure". I'm pretty-much a purist. -One thing that many 928 owners have done that I appreciate is the mounting of a Porsche crest on the ashtray door. You can buy a cheap key ring fob with a gold Porsche badge and grind off the top part that holds it to the leather fob, then glue it to the door. I haven't done that, but I think it is a nice touch. The Bleumax - 78 5spd, 52K, cat delete, airpump delete, magnaflow exhaust. Great sound and much lighter than my former 84 and 86.5 - feels faster (altho it's not):http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1252158971.jpg

Thanks John. would love to seep ics of your 79.
|
Linderpat- I don't know which is more beautiful- your 928 or that AMAZING view you have behind your house. What gorgeous country!
|
Thanks Morriss. Here's another scenery shot from a fun run a few of us took two weeks ago along the Beartooth Hwy at the Montana and Wyoming border. This is at 10,800 feet! The views were stunning.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1252168676.jpg

By the way, the 930 on the end is a RUF conversion, and the silver S4 is supercharged with the prototype 89GT engine. These cars were scary fast - it was fun to watch them pull away from the rest of us like we were standing still - while we were all cruising at 120+ mph!!! (the silver S4 is for sale too)

-Did you know that if you were operating an airplane instead of a 928 at that altitude, you would be required by law to use supplemental oxygen? N |
Hi Normy - interesting you should ask. The Bleumax ran fine, but the S4 had a slight overheating issue at that altitude (it's supercharged), the 86.5 flooded at one of the overlooks when we stopped, and took a bit to start (we actually swapped a fuel pump relay and it started, but later confirmed it was just flooded), and the vette - not pictured, suffered an electrical breakdown (probably due to the road conditions - lots of resurfacing going on, and something vibrated looses on the vette battery). Definitely had some running issues at that altitude. It was like flying in a jet fighter as we wound our way up the narrow switchbacks and looked down into the vast valleys below. And yes, there was snow in August up there.
