Stan,
That second picture is your car at the 2008 OCIC. The indoor lights really made that paint pop!

My '89 at it's first GTG at Ed Hughes house when he still was a 928 guy

The Stepson as it looked it's first week

And the Schwartz car. Just waiting to have the engine pulled and head gaskets replaced and the engine resealed

Mark Robinson, I love the grey #55 race car with the 8 inch flat wheels in the rear. I'm looking into doing this on my '83.
Also, what happened to the guards red early 928 that was shot in what looked like Arizona? Those were good pictures.
Keep them coming.

I remember making those in Woodshop in the 7th grade. We would drill a large hole in the back and put an Estes rocket back there.

I built several CO2 dragsters in industrial art class back in jr high and high school. We did all kinds of crazy stuff to make them as light and fast as possible. The key was they had to survive the race without breaking or you where disqualified. We would buy these dragster kits and put the wheels on a lathe to reduce the weight and contact surface. We would make special axles and try different lubes on them. I just read they are making the exterior surfaces resemble a dimpled golf ball surface to reduce drag by 50%. I made one that placed in national competiton in Kansas City back in about 1982. It got down the 65 ft track in about half a second (0.558). They use a nylon string as a guide wire that they connect to through eyelets attached to the car. This keeps them on course and safe.

That is a gorgeous set of wheels you've got on there!! Is it Carrera III's? I love the offset in the rear, gives it a nice, beefy look

What was done to this cars wheel arches? They don't appear stock.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

Yeap, they are factory 18" Carrera III wheels with 997 size tires.

My car is a bit unique as it came from the Exclusive program. Its a 91 and it came with factory GTS flares and other exclusive options, like a wood interior package and full leather everywhere. I think they built some 170 cars like that...
The front flares are Japanese market flares, it was the regulation in Japan at that time to have them on....

Are those Ruf wheels Pete? My wife would love to have a set of 18" Ruf's for her 911 turbo.

Replicas, unfortunately they are 19's. I little on the heavy side but for the street it's all good. I'd love to go back down to 17's but I didn't have many choices that weren't $3k /set Kinesis or equivalent
