Hi sports fans,
I have a 1982 928S Euro. The manual I bought online seems to be missing any pages that talk about the headlight aiming adjuster that is next to the drivers seat. Mine doesn't seem to do anything and my headlights are basically pointed at the ground about 5 feet in front of the car. Any advice on what do do with this thing? Can I just do away with it and lock the headlights "up"? My second question is regarding something I found online called "The Shark Vent". It is an improved air/oil separator system. My engine has enough blow-by to push quantities of oil into the intake when I've got my foot into it. The SV looks like a good system but seems pricey at $400. Has anyone seen the device and think its worth it? Regards, |

Yes, that is the Euro Headlight Adjuster knob next to your drivers seat. Probably inoperable. I also have the same. Someday, I will try and fix it. For now, yes, just adjust them at the headlight area.

I had a good amount of oil making its way out of the separator and into the air filter box and even some oil leaking out of the cap, particularly on the track. Since I'm not supercharged I started with the oil can baffle that Carl at 928Motorsports sells. The price is about $40 shipped and it made a great improvement on the amount of oil I was seeing in the airbox.

The provent works fine - the sharkvent is a packaed version of same with 928 specfic adaptations (all the extra fittings/mountings you will need).
You can swap the Euro HL adjusters at the bottom of the headlight for a fixed USA version - this will make aiming more reliable. The adjustment will probably need to be made by shimming the mounting bolts with washers since the Euro's are designed to pivot at the bottom and the mounting is essentially a hinge point without an adjuster as on USA versions. yeah i have the same exact car as you and i also have noticed that the adjuster knob next to the handbrake doesn't do crap. may just be a wiring problem but it seems as if i need to pull out the old trusty voltmeter again.

The headlight adjuster is a fluid filled "hydraulic" system, and it rarely works.

Just placed my order for Carl's oil separator kit from 928motorsports.com Almost $300 cheaper than the sharkvent. I'll let you know how the install and performance goes. Tackling the headlights on Friday...
