yes...like i say...i think they have a teflon coating...they were baned around 94-95

the thing that gets me is...they were baned for LEO use...but joe avg can still buy them!...and they are still legal to use!!!....now there sold under a diff' name now...i think its "ranger SXT" ?

american-kiwi 05-24-2009 04:52 PM

MPdano.....dont get me wrong...last thing i want to do in life is kill someone, but i would if needed be...not scared there...i just love the
engineering and mechanical side of guns...how their made and work etc...
i was starting to apply for my FFL (as a gunsmith)...dont see that happening now with our new leader

Danglerb 05-24-2009 05:55 PM

Teflon bullets were a stupid idea. Simply put a bullet that goes through people isn't practical to use under almost any circumstances, certainly not suitable for law enforcement.

Practical home weapon is a 12g pump, just the sound of chambering the first round does the job 90% of the time.

black talon

Danglerb...the black talon doesnt go through you...it opens up like, and looks little fat tarantula...very nasty stopping power with its steel case...the hydrashock is just as good...the diff being...the hydra' has a long pin in the center of the round, this is to keep the cavity from getting plugged thus defeating its ability to expand .

i feel sorry for you guys in CA...i love the gun laws in AZ...AZ is one of the few golden states...unless you have been a noughty boy...you can have/carry a gun
the only gun that gets me tired out is my 6 inch 629-1 S&W .44 magnum...that beast is so damn heavy! (in the pic)

honestly i dont think a 9mm has enough stopping power. yeah if you hit them in the right spot they'll drop, but i wanna be able to shoot him in the waist and have it blow the bottom half of him off! (only if he is coming at me). i live in a part of my town in Florida where some "spooky" people walk around. **wink wink** thats why i prefer my thumb hold Persian AK-47 or the custom 375 Holland&Holland made by a buddy of my dad's. thats stopping power!

to me, the nastiest round is the illegal fusion steel bullets. they consist of crumpled metal bits that were pressed together very hard to make a bullet. the magic of the round is. when it comes in contact with a heat source, like the inside of the human body cavity, the compressed fragments of the bullet loose their grab with each other and they essentially fall apart at speed in the body.the even more magical thing is, when fired at a bullet proof vest, the fragments stay together and, due to the density of the steel bullet at a high muzzle velocity, goes right through the vest. thats why they are also illegal.:)

crikey - that looks likes it's just coughed up a lung!

Am-Kiwi, surely the crime wasn't that bad here! I mean, yes, there was a meth lab at the end of the street last year, but that was all sorted. Twice.

may i suggest a .30cal browning chain gun? they tend to work very well in those types of situations.

Hmm - leaving the '28 out wouldn't be the cleverist thing to do - although I was surprised at how cheap the insurance was - apparantly there has only ever been one stolen in Christchurch - and that was from a repair shop, and used in a ramraid. Of course, badge theft and keying are the major problems.

Yep - Horizon Blue - I tried to take a pic of the paint sticker, but the text is very faded, and the sticker is a silvery colour, so the sunlight made it almost unreadable - the 37X sounds familiar. I really wanted a Tahoe Blue one, as I understand that was the basis of the colour John Britten used:
