I found this Air Fuel ratio gauge on Amazon for $22 (ships free at $25), so I added some filler and bought one. Anybody using one of these cheap gauges with a stock O2 sensor?

Mike,
Weren't you of the ones telling me that a narrow band O2 reading ain't worth s%$t? Anyways, did a bunch of research on this and came to conclusion that I really need a Wide Band O2 Sensor and a Wide Band A/F Gauge. You can find them for around $200 as a set.

Yeah, I thought Mike was beating that drum with me. At that price point I wouldn't expect much.

Leo doesn't run closed loop with his O2 sensor, which I think is key to one of these working.
BTW I have a wide band O2 sensor, but saving it to use when I borrow a wide band meter. |

You can't just hook it up to the meter with the O2 only plugged into the Meter?

I'm not sure, but my conjecture is without closed loop control its going to show rich or lean, without a good indication of how much.
I don't plan to mount this one in my car, just hook it up for some amusement and then it can go into a different car. We can give it a try in Leo's car and see what it does. *** If your question is about using a wideband sensor with a narrow band meter? The output of the wideband slowly changes voltage from lean to rich, and the narrow band doesn't change voltage much until a "trigger" point at stoichiometric where it changes abruptly. Unless a meter is calibrated for the sensor curves the voltage won't mean much. |

Test away. The O2 wire terminates to the Center Console to nothing. Go for it!

Unless you are running boost, why would you want one?

On my my 85 Euro I intend to sharktune it, and I don't think the Sharktuner on the LH2.2 can pick up A/F directly. For the other cars, just curious, maybe try some tuning with the more limited controls.

CIS, not computer controlled. I would like to get my A/F spot on. Plus I got two holes I need to fill on both sides of my clock in the Center Console

Oil temp is fun, literally hotter the oil the more fun you are usually having.

You could fill the other hole with a pyrometer. EGT goes well together with A/F to tell you what is going on.
