My speedometer, fuel gauge and low fuel warning light all have never worked since I purchased my car.
the facts are as follows - I have replaced the sending unit for the Speedo ( no change) - Removed the Speedometer and sent it to Florida to get rebuilt they changed the drive gear and cleaned it up ( no change) - when I unplug the connecter at the back of the car near the battery and jumper the 2 wires that should be sending unit for the low fuel light the Speedo jumps to 10 MPH I think the previous owner may have had a case of I know more than the Germans and he may have put the wires in the wrong order does anyone have a schematic that would tell the correct order of the wires on the male and female side of both plugs that join the back of the car and go through the paneling above the fuel tank? |

What about the PCB (printer circuit board)? That's my next change out. I get intermittent Speedo, Odo and Volts. Some have had luck in cleaning the contacts.

when i got my car running...everything worked....than one day, i turn the key on...the whole left side from the middle of my gauges didnt work any more....found it was the connectors on the wiring/fuse board
(pass foot area).. they had to be cleaned off...had been wet at some stage..all turned green...cleaned them...all better now...they are listed a-b-c-d etc..so it was easy to pull all the plugs off and clean with a very small file inside the plugs..and used a wire brush on the pins...i did the same with all the fuses too.......yes my speedo only works when it wants to...i read the forum about fixing that...my odo does work

I had the same problem! and found out that there was a 4 wire plug in the back, under the carpet, where the spare tire is, I unplugged this, plugged it back in and ALL of my gauges came back on!
