I hit a snag with removing the engine.

I decided to take the advice from Danglerb and remove the engine. I realized it would be much easier to assemble the heads and everything with it removed. So i downloaded the factory manuals, and dug in. I removed the clutch cover thing, and it doesn't look anything like the factory manual. I think the factory manual shows the autos. Anyways Is their any online resources that has the details on removing it, or something like clarks-garage but for 928s? Or maybe someone here can help.

I need help removing the assembly to where i can be able to pull the engine.

I currently have both 16V heads removed, ac compressor is unbolted, radiator is out, all of the fuel lines out, and I have the motor mounts bolts at the bottom loose. The only things left is to feed out the wiring from the computer, and get the clutch assembly loose.

You need to remove the bolts between the bell housing and the engine, the bolts that hold the flywheel on and the pinch collar around the torque tube. The bolt on the pinch collar needs to come all the way out.

Loosen the two bolts in the pinch collar. They are oriented 180 degrees apart. Once those are loose slide the collar back down the torque tube. With that out of the way, remove the two bolts that hold the stub shaft support to the bellhousing. Now you pull the stub shaft out of the clutch. Pull the 4 bellhousing bolts engine mounts. That's basically what holds the engine in. Engine comes out easily with the clutch attached. Other stuff like accessories, grounds, fuel, et cetera need to go as well.

ok that's where i'm stuck. I got everything off, but the stub shaft doesn't have enough room to get out all of the way. I was able to get the 2 of the 4 bolts loose, but the stub shaft isn't letting me reach the other two.

Levi you need to remove the Bell housing bolts from the out side not on the inside of the where the torque tube bolts to.
First.....
To remove the clutch if you have not already done so get some wire about 2 times as thick as a coat hanger and bend 3 U shaped pieces to fit around the 3 pins in the pressure plate. Note:The PP bolts must be tight before you can fit these spacers.

What they do is hold the PP in a slightly released position, and let you have enough room to pry off the release arm from the top of the bell housing ball.
Once the spacers are in and the release arm is off the ball then remove the throw out bearing guide tube bolts then the PP bolts and slide the stub shaft back about 1 inch, let the clutch down out of the car as a complete unit, you do not remove the stub shaft by itself.
Once the cluch is out then with the bell housing bolts removed you lift the engine slowly and it will come out
Note the motor mounts are disconnected from the engine side not from under the crossmember That is 4 bolts per side, make sure to install new motor mounts

Playing with the clutch kind of spooks me, so I was thinking about leaving the clutch attached to the motor, good or bad idea?

The clutch comes off/goes on really easy.

you cant get the engine out with the clutch in place.
Worst part about the clutch is the dirt that falls out best to have a piece of cardboard to let the dirt fall onto then throw it away

true, as soon as the engine is out i'm rollin her out and sweeping.

I just put in the clips and gonna drop clutch. Since I already have two of the 4 bolts loose at the torque tube so unless it's dangeriously unsafe to do so that's where it'll becoming loose at?

the engine will not come out with the bell housing attached unless you drop the front cross member.
Remove the 4 19mm bolts that hold the bell housing to the rear of the engine block then things are easy, clutch must also be removed first
