Odometer not working....HELP!

My odometer recently stopped working in my 1986 928S. I purchased an odometer sprocket and took the pod off. I cannot find where to replace the sprocket.

Does anyone have any knowledge on this? Are these things usually the result of a faulty sprocket? Or is it something else?

Thanks so much for your help.

John
