Where in the world is the female Multiplug connector??
Hey guys, matched up all cables and plugs after a motor install.....I just cannot locate 1 female end of a multi-plug connector. Referenced Vol 1 Volume 28 Pg 28-55 and this multi-plug is very similar to this but is the only one that is disconnected in the fuse box are on engine removal (Ref Section 10 32v engine removal Pg 10-18....Step 41 & 42 states, disconnect plug type connector (Lambda Probe, Probe Heating & Elect Ign)....have the round Lambda, and the upper small connector connected but I am left with this damn 3 prong connector (Seen in photo with the Lambda plug on the motor pulled).....
Can someone take a several detailed photos to post on this plug connected and the location of? In the manual, this shows the connector routed coming in from the center console area...hope I make sense, please help as this is the only issue before engine run (After few years)...thank in advance.

You can't run the car and then see what doesn't work? On my OB, that round one looks like what is plugged into my Turn Signal Stalk and the Square one is plugged into about 4 different things (sensors, AAV and WUR).

What year car? And is it near the fuse box? I have an 86 and the engine is out I can look around for you.
After looking again, It looks like it is the front of the motor. I am guessing the square one is for the throttle position sensor and the round one may be for AC compressor?

Hi Pat,
Did your car have cats from factory, or was it a non-cat car? On non-cat cars, the O2 sensor plug you show has a terminator attached with a single loop to ground the O2 signal wire. The other 3-pin connector attached to a potentiometer that is used to calibrate the MAF signal for the LH, so that it can match MAF signal to the appropriate load on the non-cat fuel maps. In cars with an O2 sensor, that 3-pin Bosch/AMP connector is left unplugged, as there is no potentiometer to attach it to, and the round Sureseal O2 sensor is connected to the O2 sensor that comes through the tunnel from underneath the car. There is also the matter of the coding plug on the LH unit, which tells the LH whether the car is auto/manual, cat/non-cat, etc. which will affect whether a signal is read from either connector. Much appreciate the assistance guys...MP, had a friend that suggested the same, but with everything pretty much removed from the car, dash played with etc...I desire much to make sure and double sure all is plugged in correctly and serviced correctly as there is just too much that could fault out after this length of time.
Fred; These plugs are located within the spider harness (1988 S4) that gets pulled through the firewall during motor chg. I took several foto's to make sure but I was in such a rush and snapped with all disconnected (Dah hehe).... Xlot; this S4 in particular is a cat equipped car....I have all connected up, was only this particular rectangular 3-Pin plug that is throwing me for a loop....You are positive it is left disconnected? Is a test lead only? Is for the Probe Heat or Elect. Ign? If remains unplugged, would explain why I cannot locate the opposite end, let me know thanks.

The 2 plugs your holding are
Round is for the O2 sensor. That rectangle plug is left disconnected, IIRC its for adding an adjustable pot to run the engine on low octane fuel

That's great news....much appreciate the assistane. Will re-install the LH & ECU, ck the tranny fluid (Have a leak rear of that area another topic), prime the motor, pull the f.pump relay and turn her over a couple of times...re-check the T. Belt tracking & the PKsn'r piston then fire her up (of course after the relay install).
