Engine Racing at times

Last week I had an issue with my engine sometimes racing and coming back to idle very slowly. At first I thought it was a vacuum leak and decided to put clamps on my Decel Valve since I haven't put clamps on it since I replaced the hoses, it was impossible to do with the Spider Legs still attached. I ended up removing 3 legs to get the job done.

Started it up and same problem, but I noticed that it was only when I used the accelerator pedal and not when I blipped it from the throttle body.

It ended up being my Accelerator Cable was frayed inside, which is why I was getting a scrapping noise when pushing on the pedal with key off. I ordered a $70 cable and will be installing it on Saturday. Being 928less for the past week was harsh on the body and mind.

Here are some pics. I also noticed there are 2 other ways you can mount your Accelerator Pedal (floor mounting screws), anyone know what it would accomplish if I used the holes closer to the seat?

I think all the pedals may have some adjustment for distance, this could be handy if your legs get shorter.

It actually changes the angle of the pedal, but was wondering if anyone has experimented with the different mounting positions.

Leo, If your engine was racing, does that mean you have a Racing Engine? OK, bad pun.

Raining here too, (SUX). I just R&R'd the starter in my rig, turns out, my new autozone "gold" starter is somewhat intermittant. Solenoid kicks out, but only fires the starter after 2 or three tries. Oh well, lifetime warranty I guess. Just hate crawling under the damn thing twice. Que sara sara.
