Probably not a bad price considering a new Porsche water pump is over $800! What the heck, we are not dealing in Chevy or Ford, right???

Those don't look like 928 S4 headers the blot pattern is not right , Plus some one must be smoking something to want 4000.00 a set.

Consider that I sell a complete set of hotside parts for the 928 for around $5K...and that includes the brand new turbos, oil sumps, wastegate actuators, and downpipes complete with ceramic coatings.
Why would anybody part with even $2000 for a set of NA headers to gain maybe 20 HP? Foolish in my opinion.

Serial#00001 - Parts
$4K for a set of 928 headers – yea bubba, ya’llll come on in and look around…there may be something else you also want to buy.
Perhaps they are off the personal serial#00001 vehicle of Ferdinand Piech who originally designed the 928 concept car in 1971. The sad part was that after Ferdinand proposed and directed most of the preliminary drawings and engineering work for the 928, he was ousted by the Porsche hierarchy during an internal power struggle. Surely this is some kind of a misprint and the seller meant something closer to $400. Michael ![]() Last edited by JK McDonald; 03-15-2010 at 02:49 PM.. |

I paid $400 for a set not long ago and they were like new. They were an improvement in mid-range power from 3,000 to 6,000 rpm. They do sound a little louder than stock and have that header 'ring' to them.
I saw a set at Black Forest Racing not long ago but didn't ask a price.

There are a couple very good to insanely good local shops, and I have been "toying" with having one of them make me a custom set of tri Y stepped pipe etc. headers, but the price does get scary pretty fast.
Options for early cars are to use the US 85/86 manifolds, MSDN headers for about $600, or from Mark A for I think about $1000. |
