A/C sliding knob replacement
Both of my sliding knobs are broken.
They are still sitting in the slots, but come off, with some pieces still inside. I bought two new replacement knobs. Do you have to remove the entire center console to replace them? I was going to try and remove the broken pieces with a tweezer, try to keep the copper colored clip in place and try and put the new knobs in. does the face plate of the heater/A/C control come off without removing the whole center console? |

I just finished pulling my Control head out. The ac vent pulls right out with pliers, gently, then the black border piece comes off carefully, then 4 screws hold the whole unit in and two for the ac button panel.
The hardest part is getting the wire clips off and back on.

my 2 vents and border came off as one unit.
I don't see any screws. Just the two top bolts that hold the console. |

You did not go far enough.
Pull the trim off, be carefull not to break it. Outlined in white. Then take out the screws underneath it. Red marks. ![]()
