Is there an easier way?
Trying to remove the old paper gaskets from the cam housings/cylinder heads. Razor blade will take it off, but it will also catch on the aluminum beneath the gasket and create burrs. I have already spent 1.5 hrs cleaning just one cam housing and part of one head, not looking forward to the rest of the process. I am going insane working on this, does anyone have any tips?

get some PB blaster and spray the gaskets a few times then spray them again in a few hours let sit overnight then you should be able to remove the gaskets .
Careful with the razor when you get most of the gasket off try holding the blade perpendicular to surface and go back and forth this will remove the gasket and not gouge the part

Stuck my heads in a commercial parts washer for a few hours before starting on the gaskets, razor blade just like Mrmerlin says. Wish it was easier, but nothing else I tried was.

Thanks! I will buy some PB blaster and gasket remover and try out both methods.

bwmac, a rotary power tool for gasket surfaces? UGH!
 I assume that is some non-abrasive thing more gentle than the stupid scotchbrite things that kill flat surfaces but still, it sucks. It takes patience to prep a gasket surface and that's all there is to it. Just settle in and be gentle and thorough.

I have used a few different ones and again its all about how you use it. Heck some guys cant use a torque wrench correctly. But none of those people belong to this forum, mostly where I work ha ha ha
