I saw a European throttle body and plenum on Ebay. The seller says that is reported to add 45HP to the early cars, with no loss in torque. Does anybody have any knowledge/experience with this?

Hello
The manifold isn´t making 45 HP. Euro 928 S also had other higher compression Pistons, other heads and some other details helping to gain power. Boltet on alone it will not help very much. If the saler gives you numbers in the contract and you can sue him to fullfill his claims..... Wish people would do that in the biz to clear out the @holes. Grüsse |

Roland's spot on (as usual
![]() Euro 4.7 cars had different heads (valves & cams) and different pistons. 928S2 (Euro model name) were 310 bhp. Lovely to drive too.. I used to own a 4.5 (10:1 compression - again, Euro) and my parents still own their old 85 928S2. Lots and lots of power!

Well I bought the Euro intake. I figure it was a good buy, since I plan on building the motor with a Devek stroker kit, better cams, bigger valves, and a better(maybe dual) exhaust. Hopefully I'll get some dyno results posted someday. Thanks for all the feedback!

Sounds like a good bet, especially if it was cheap!

Don't want to dampen your idea but by the time you have built
the engine as described and installed it you would have been able to buy a good 928S4!!!!

I can't help it, I am a sucker for a good project. I may be a masochist(heh, heh), but I would rather rebuild and extensively modify my cars than buy something off the shelf that's already done(although I wish I could buy a 968 Turbo S, too bad they only made 15). It's really satisfying to me to be able to say "I did all that" than to have to say " I bought it that way". I think I was born with grease implanted under my fingernails. ;-)

If you want to do it yourself; you could always fit a S4 engine
trans, suspension and brakes in the car!! Has been done before and is pretty quick.
