Welcome to you both. This is 'the neil' refered to. First thing you must do is come out and meet the locals. We get together every Saturday for coffee around 8AM at the Wake Zone here in Apex, most Saturdays a Briar creek, and the first saturday of every month from 7:30 AM at Waverly Place in Cary, over 200 cars come out for that, its a great GTG. You will meet all the local 928 owners by coming to either.
I'm in Apex and always more than happy to offer advice and help on any 928 problems.

Again, welcome and come out and join us - I'll be at Wake Zone this coming saturday.
Neil

Thanks Neil.

I'll make every effort to get there Saturday. If schedules allow, I'll also bring along our 18-year-old son who is helping me with the restoration.

Thanks Neil (and everyone else) for the warm welcome..... I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions as this is my first Porsche restoration... I used to be a "Vette guy", but don't hold that against me.. lol... I will definatly be out to meet all of you on a Saturday very soon.

Ron..... I used to live in China Grove for many years, Right off Old Concord Salisbury Highway.

Bill

I want to say welcome as well, you will find that the members here are really good people.

A "Vette Guy" I was thinking about going the way, what years were you? The 928 is a better build car but it cost more to fix.

I don't know, if I had to do it over again, still would have bought a 928 but got one in a little better shape.

In 1991 I was actually on my way to look at a Vette for sale. I did all the research and knew everything about Vette's at the time. I drove by my 928 on the way there and bought it on the spot. It was only 1/2 the money so I figured I'd have a ton of money to fix it up. Epic mistake #1.

When you drive down the street you see Vetts everywhere.... (928's on the other hand are few and far between on the road.... In fact when I brought it home neighbors came over to see what it was. Can't wait to get it on the road !!!

Welcome Bill,
I hope your 928 grows on you like my '83s has for me.
Love the car, if a week passes i have to get behind the wheel.
The best of luck with your Porsche, looking forward to seeing it.
Matt
