wills928:-I'm looking for an earlier 3-lug alternator cover. The newer alt cover in the foreground has 4-lugs, but couldn't see the other cover. Could you tell me what year 928 these parts came from and would also be interested if you have a manual transmission? I might be interested in the fuel tank if you'd take $100 dollars for it. Also interested in the dash switches. Items would have to ship to Virginia 24073 - thanks, milspam

I may need the tool kit, I believe the car I'm getting is missing most of the tools. Gonna have to wait until I get it though.

I will ship as long as you pay shipping from us, 19701 zip code, and us money, but there are 2 others on site who have asked about them, there is no bidding war as my price is fixed firm, just first come , first served!

My foglight switch broke yesterday...
Could you ship one to Denmark with USPS International? Although I don't have any money until after Christmas, so if anyone wants to buy it before then, ok.

Hey Willis,
I recently took my 1979 928 in for PA state inspection. The mechanic showed me that my gas tank is leaking fuel and had corroded thru the portion of the strap where the fuel lines are covered. So, if the Tank Strap you have will fit my car andis still available please let me know. Shipping will be to York, PA 17403. Question: I believe the leak is from the intank fuel pump housing or the rubber seal, will I need to remove the tank strap to replace the pump and seal? Thanks in advance for your reply. Victorb17 |

Yes I have it and you have to remove the strap to drop the tank to replace the intank pump, got that too! But I think I am correct in saying you need to remove strap to get to tank,,,,,, chime in guys if I'm wrong

I forget when it changed, but two styles of tank strap. Both "can" work, but the part with the lines in it is different.

For leverage, you'll need to loosen both straps (just remove nuts from bumper side) and have a jack underneath to slowly lower your tank down a few inches. Then you'll have the room and leverage to remove the in-tank pump. This is how I did mine.

It would be surprising if he still has the toolkit three years later.
