Looking for an 82 instrument cluster

Hi,

I am currently having issues with my cluster. The Fuel gauge and odometer weren't working, so I pulled the cluster to inspect the ODO gear and clean up the contacts.

I do need to order the gear, but now....

All gauges seem to work, (not sure of fuel gauge accuracy yet) but the second I turn on parking or headlights, the temp and fuel gauge peg to maximum and no dash illumination is present at all.

I'll probably pull and hardwire my existing cluster, but I need one to drop in in the meantime.... so.... Does anyone have a cluster compatible with a 1982 that they want to part with?

Thanks,

Mark

Maybe 928Intl, but used clusters are not going to be reliable without going through them.

AT or 5 spd?

*I don't have a one, just pointing out you want AT or not.

I have one from an '88, auto, don't know if it's compatable.. You may be able to swap out the gauges. If you are in the military in Iraq.. $100

Ooops gotta update my profile, I didn't realize how long it's been since I logged on. I am back from Iraq, currently at Ft. Lewis WA.

I am pretty certain the '88 cluster will not directly replace the '82 cluster. I think that clusters before '83 have 3 13 wire connectors on the board and '83 and later, at least '84, have 3 14 pin connectors. I have an '81 cluster in poor shape as well as an '84 and I know for fact they will not interchange because of the difference in their 3 connectors. Swapping gauges may work between the 2, I have only swapped out '81 and '84 gauges....and that worked out OK....

I was able to buy a complete '84 cluster, sans speedo section, from Mark Benton for a very reasonable amount (no connection to Mark...I have gotten great used parts from him at decent prices)
