Something got altered with either the front ball cup.....or .. the rear shift coupler. My vote goes to the rear shift coupler since it's much easier to see and get to on a lift.

Are you sure they bled the clutch correctly. I just went through the procedure this sunday, and it's quite odd, and almost reversed thinking. Fluid goes in from the bottom, using the LF brake caliper bleed nipple to push the fluid in.

I had a trained and certified Porsche mechanic tell me the opposite, and of course it didn't work. So I went on here and found out how to do it, and now my clutch works better than ever. The fluid that came out of the clutch could easily be original, as it way totally ink-black.

Owning a 928 is risky business - but sometimes you just gotta say "what the fudge".

If they put the wrong master cylinder on the car, it will not ever shift properly. There are two different length shafts for the master cylinder. You probably had the one with not enough throw installed. There are several threads on RL about this. There actually may be threads on this forum also.
The front ball cup could be a goner or the rear coupler may need to adjusted also.

That's right!!!
Rob Edwards posted a very clear picture the other day on rennlist of the cylinder and the modification needed, with measurements.

Here is the link. Rob's input is very nicely defined in the last couple posts. Same thing Stan has been saying here, too.

Clutch Master Is In. Why Is The Travel 3/4" Shorter Than The Old One? - Page 3 - Rennlist Discussion Forums

Here's the money shot picture that this gentleman took, lifted from the post, in case you can't see the pictures on rennlist link.
Note that the end has been grooved as it was before cutting (necessary).
Seems, in summary, he removes 5mm from the small end of the piston and regrooves it.
He did not shorten the spring.
