HELP... What is this sensor

I found this while doing the fuel line R&R.
it is located at the rear of the engine below the fuel cooler manifold that is attached to the fire wall.
one end is loose under the air box and the other goes into the "bellhousing"
it goes into the housing on the 3rd photo right next to the piece of leaf.

any ideas..







Any help is appreciated

also....there was only 2 studs to bolt down the air box...wasnt there supposed to be another set of studs?

The plug is for a Porsche test tool that is no longer used......my airbox only has 2 studs....
